Students will learn the basics of creating a 4-shaft double weave cloth in this hands on, online class. Each student will weave their own sampler to keep. Techniques covered will be: two separate layers, folded cloth, tubular weave, colour & weave, double weave pick-up and more! Double weave theory will also be discussed - students will leave with a thorough understanding of how double weave works and how to design and create their own future double weave projects. This workshop is designed for beginner and intermediate weavers who have already taken our Beginner I & II classes OR individuals that already have a solid weaving education and previous experience. Students must already know how to confidently wind a warp and dress a loom. There will not be any instruction on these elements and it is assumed the student can already complete this independently. -Warping instructions and supply list will be emailed out to all participants 4 weeks prior to the class start. -Students are expected to have looms warped & tied on for our first class. -We suggest using 4/8 cotton, but a warping plan will be sent for 2/8 cotton as well. -Table and jack looms are recommended for this workshop, please indicate when registering if you will be using a counterbalance loom. -Although this is an online class, student participation is recommended. Please consider having your video on so we can all get to know each other and see our amazing double weave results! There will be 8 sessions total. This class will run on Monday evenings at 7pm ET, from March 20th to May 8th 2023. The cost is $300 per student (no tax) and is payable upon registration to secure your spot. Price includes student notes. This class size will small, with a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6. Note that we reserve the right to cancel and fully refund if we do not received a minimum registration number.
