Service Description

Students will learn the basics of creating a 4-shaft doubleweave cloth in this hands on, in person class. Each student will weave their own sampler to take home. Techniques covered will be: two separate layers, folded cloth, tubular weave, colour & weave, quilting, doubleweave pick-up and more! Doubleweave theory will also be discussed - students will leave with a thorough understanding of how doubleweave works and how to design and create their own future doubleweave projects. This 2 or 3 day workshop is designed for beginner and intermediate weavers who have already taken our Beginner I & II classes OR individuals that already have a solid weaving education and previous experience. Students must already know how to confidently wind a warp and dress a loom. There will not be any instruction on these elements and it is assumed the student can already complete this independently. 3 days is for students who wish to use one of our studio looms. 2 days is for students who would like to bring a pre-warped portable loom. (Day 1: dress studio looms, Day 2 -3: all students arrive for 2 days of doubleweave instruction). Please indicate if you are attending a 2 or 3 day class when registering. The cost is $225 per student (no tax) and is payable upon registration to secure your spot. Price includes all supplies the use of equipment and extensive student notes. Class sizes are small and typically 1 to 3 students. Bring your own lunch each day or purchase a lunch in town during the break. Students will have access to a fridge, microwave etc., and coffee/tea will be available.
